We know domain verification has been a hassle but we introduce this due to domain hijacking that happened in past months to ensure all our clients own their domains while using CNAMEs! This was introduced as the Akamai backend has the limitation on domain validation while being provisioned via API. We as partners introduced this workaround hence provisioning issues are resolved.
