Health Check allows us to determine the status of the server so that the traffic director can switch to the available server if the primary goes offline.<\/p>\n<p>Health Check can only be enabled for<strong> A, AAAA, CNAME, <\/strong>and<strong> ANAME<\/strong> records with <strong>Failover<\/strong> or <strong>Round Robin with Failover <\/strong>mode.<\/p>\n<p>Follow the steps to create a Health Check in the traffic director<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Login to <strong>5centsCDN<\/strong> control panel.<\/li>\n<li>Go to <strong>Traffic Director<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4432 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.5centscdn.net\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/TD1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"688\" height=\"388\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click the<strong> Manage<\/strong> button of your domain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4433 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.5centscdn.net\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Manage.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"689\" height=\"388\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On the redirected page, you can find all the records.<\/li>\n<li>You can also create new records here. for example,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.5centscdn.net\/help\/knowledge-base\/how-to-create-dns-a-record-in-traffic-director-domain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> click here<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Click the rule inside an A\/AAAA\/CNAME or ANAME record.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4455 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.5centscdn.net\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/record.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"683\" height=\"372\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The health check can only be enabled in <strong>Failover<\/strong> or <strong>Round Robin with Failover<\/strong> mode. So you have to select any one of these modes in the &#8220;<strong>Rule Mode<\/strong>&#8221; option.<\/li>\n<li>If you have selected the Failover mode then choose the appropriate <strong>Failover mode.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4456 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.5centscdn.net\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/fail-ove-round-rob.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"695\" height=\"393\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can add all the IP addresses\/Hostname(maximum of 10 IPs or Hostnames).<\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>settings icon<\/strong> nearest to the IP\/Hostname to create a new health check.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4457 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.5centscdn.net\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/HC-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Configure the following settings to create a health check for the particular hostname\/IP.\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Click <strong>Add New<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4458 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.5centscdn.net\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Add-new.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"685\" height=\"382\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Name:<\/strong> Provide a name to identify the health check.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4459 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.5centscdn.net\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Name-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"703\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>IP address:<\/strong> Add the IP address of the server.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4460 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.5centscdn.net\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/IP.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"687\" height=\"390\" \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Monitoring Region:<\/strong> You can select the monitoring region as Global, Europe, or North America. The traffic director will check the health of the server from the specified region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4462 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.5centscdn.net\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/global.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"688\" height=\"380\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Monitoring Period:\u00a0<\/strong>You can select the monitoring period. This page is only updated if any event happens.
