Typically, it contains general information about the domain name and also valuable details for verification purposes and email validation.<\/p>\n

Why do you need a TXT record?<\/h2>\n

Many providers such as Google, Office 365, etc, often require a special verification code via\u00a0TXT<\/strong> record to be added in your DNS zone. That way you prove to them you are the actual owner of that particular domain name.<\/p>\n

Another common use of the\u00a0TXT<\/strong>\u00a0record is for\u00a0SPF<\/strong>,\u00a0DKIM, and for\u00a0DMARC\u00a0domain keys as well.<\/p>\n

DKIM<\/strong>\u00a0(DomainKeys Identified Mail) is a mechanism that allows senders to associate a domain name with an e-mail message.\u00a0In technical terms, DKIM is a technique to authorize a domain to associate its name to an email message through cryptographic authentication.<\/p>\n

DMARC<\/strong> (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance) is a mechanism that allows the e-mail senders and receivers to determine or not a given message is legitimately from the sender, and what to do if it isn\u2019t. The DMARC record allows easier to identify spam and\/or phishing messages, received in the Customers’ mailbox, and to keep them out of there.<\/p>\n
