The Segmenter Caching Edge Rule provides granular control over the HLS\/DASH manifest and segment caching<\/strong> within our CDN. This rule helps optimize performance for both live streaming and Video-on-Demand (VOD) content<\/strong> by ensuring efficient caching at the edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steps to Configure Segmenter Caching Edge Rule<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1. Log into your 5centsCDN <\/strong>Dashboard<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • Access your 5centsCDN<\/strong> account by logging into the CDN dashboard<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    2. Create an HTTP Pull Zone<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    • Navigate to Zones<\/strong> > HTTP Pull Zones<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Click the Plus Green button<\/strong> at the top right to create the zone and enter the required details.

      3. Configure Segmenter Caching Settings<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      A. Optimize the CDN Resource<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

      • Under the CDN Resource<\/strong> section, find Optimize For<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Select the appropriate option based on your use case:\n

        • HLS\/Dash Live<\/strong> (for live streaming)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • HLS\/Dash VoD<\/strong> (for Video-on-Demand)

            • Scroll down & Locate HLS\/DASH Manifest\/Segment Caching<\/strong> from the Edge Rules list.

                • Adjust caching durations as needed:\n
